Not a ho in the sense of havin' a pussy, but a pussy havin' no goddamn sense; try and push me
I am fed up.
I hate post-modernism. I hate Lacanian film theory. I hate critics who think everything is phallic, including the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz. The MUNCHKINS. I hate the TRL for being closed because all the librarians deserve to get to spend Easter with their families or whatever. I spent Easter doing homework. I hate having to find ten sources for a 2,000-word paper. I hate my school making me wake up at 6 am to register for summer courses, therefore disrupting a nice cozy dream and me winding up exhausted.
I really like Jay-Z though. (HIT ME.)

Good stuff as per usual, thanks. I do hope this kind of thing gets more exposure.,772911,http://mootpoint.blogdrive.com/archive/67.html

Gerstein also has the best bathrooms. Way better than even the Bahen Centre, and infinitely better than Trin.

The Gerstein's nice. I wrote a story about the new wing when it opened. Most. Boring. Article. Ever.
 | | | Jaya April 13, 2004 01:53 PM PDT
The Trin library and Pratt both suck.
I prefer the newly renovated Gerstein.

Yeah, 3. But they're gas... Still (probably) violates the Bodelian oath.
No laptops, but plenty of old world charm.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 05:17 AM PDT
Fireplaces?!
I wish Pratt had fireplaces. They just have hard plastic low-backed chairs and glass walls. They do lend out laptops though, which is great.
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 05:08 AM PDT
It's good times... wooden study booths, plush chairs in the reading rooms, fireplaces, actual wooden bookcases...

its/it's is a huge pet peeve of mine. I'll forgive you since you caught it though.
The rest of the Robarts bathroom's pretty depressingly "old-style," in the most institutional way, which is what makes the dispensers so exciting.
I've never so much as set foot in the Trin library.
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 04:59 AM PDT
oops... its... Bad form on an English student's blog I imagine.
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 04:58 AM PDT
Why would I ever go to Robarts? Again, all my sources are in the reader.
That's pretty cool though. Contrast that with the Trin library, which only has motion sensor urinals (constantly overflowing with the refuse of 'old-style' paper dispensers) and goose-necked faucets which are so elegant as to dispense a downward stream of water a good 4 inches above the granite counter, and it's small-diameter under-hung sinks. Since the sensor will only recognize your hands when they are well above the rim, you can't help but spill water all over the counter.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 04:40 AM PDT
Not Robarts. You know they have motion-censor paper towel dispensers in the ladies' room now? It makes you really want to dry your hands.

Library's closed. | |
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 04:28 AM PDT
That's what libraries are for.
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 04:27 AM PDT
That's what floors are for.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 04:19 AM PDT
Or a cleaner desk. | |
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 03:52 AM PDT
That's why you leave all the books in a giant pile open in front of you, and why you need a bigger desk.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 03:41 AM PDT
I guess. I don't even know what I'm going to do with half this stuff.
Also, I never remember who said what.
I bet Jay-Z just buys her all the sources she needs.
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 03:28 AM PDT
Still easier than defending him against one source for 10 pages... I don't know how people fill the space.
Beyonce has people for that.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 03:20 AM PDT
FINDING 10 sources is not great. I think I only have 9. Whatever. I'm not finding more at this point.
It's no fun because they all contradict each other and you still have to form opinions about which professional film critics are right anyway.
I bet Beyonce never had to find 10 sources.:(
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 03:14 AM PDT
And 10 sources is great. You can quote your way to the finish line. The alternative (yay) is 2 sources for 3000 words. You actually have to pick a side and fend off a professional philosopher with 20 years of training, while maintaining some dignity (usually you just pick the author that comes later in the book.) Original thought is lame.
 | | | Brenda April 13, 2004 12:50 AM PDT
Hahaha!
I stand by it. | |
 | | | Wrenkin April 13, 2004 12:13 AM PDT
In general, within limits. I don't think see-through metalic link tops are good for me, for instance.
 | | | Brenda April 12, 2004 11:39 PM PDT
No shame in loving Jay-Z. If it's good enough for Beyonce, it's good enough for me. (Which is a good motto in general, I think.)

or she'd be intelligent and think it was named after her.

Ain't nothing wrong with Jay-Z... after all he is the god MC, hehe
I'd even go as far as saying, that the grey album is genius.. so you're not alone!
